1.大学教育重在培养学生学习和思考能力，职业教育在于传授技术，满足市场对劳动力的需求。
2.教育机构应该明确自己责任是辅助、管理研究教学，而不应该越俎代庖，鼓励学生选择研究方向，更不应该只将科学研究重点放在有利于学生就业的领域。应用研究可以在短期时间带来商业利益，理论研究通常需要长期投入，社会效益通常不会立竿见影，但是理论研究却是推动科学社会发展的重要力量。
3.教育机构将学生和科研资源都集中在了所谓“高收入”的领域，那么基础研究工作自然荒废。
4.学生要培养自己的独立思考能力，不被其他人意见左右。学生有选择教育的权利，自然就有选择自己研究领域的权利，学校应该为所有的学生都提供公平的资源。
5.从事科学研究的动力是各异的：有人是为了获得高学位，从而获得更好的就业机会;有人是获得尊重，得到社会的承认;有人为了满足自己的求知欲望，满足自己的好奇心;有人是为了挑战各种未知领域，现身科研事业。
