新gre数学重要考点:Dividing Polynomial by Monomial
Dividing Polynomial by Monomial
To divide a polynomial by a monomial, use distributive law to separate the numerator and reduce each term.
Example:
If we divide (4x2-6x) by 2x, we get (4x2-6x)/(2x)=4x2/(2x)-6x/(2x)=2x-3.
Remember:
Do not forget to divide all the terms.
If the denominator is a higher order polynimial, do not distribute the denominator.
