Polynomials
Any expression with one or more terms is called polynomial.
Example:
3x+2,4x2-x+2,and 4x+3xy+y2are all polynomials.
(3x+5/(2x+y))and sin(3x+2) are not polynomials.
Remember:
Order of a polynomial is the highest power of any variable.
The highest power in an n-th order polynomial is n.
Both monomials and binomials are polynomials of order 1 and 2, respectively.
