Given is a diagram illustrating the process by which mobile phones are recycled. It is evident from the information provided that there are three main phases involved.
Prior to the actual processing of the phone, it is first necessary for the recycler to collect them from consumers. They are then either placed into storage or forwarded directly. At this point, the resale of certain components occurs.
The second stage of the recycling process, meanwhile, entails the separation of the mobile phones from their batteries and the dismantling of both. Having further separated the phones and batteries into mechanical and magnetic parts, these parts are then divided into metals, plastics and other materials.
In the third and final phase, copper and precious metals are extracted from the metal components. The former is smelted while the latter are refined and the raw materials produced through these processes are subsequently reused. Meanwhile, plastic parts are either converted into lower grade plastics or incinerated to recover energy. The diagram does not indicate how other kinds of materials are disposed of.

流程图，顾名思义，图片是描述的一个流程的。那么就要求考生分阶段来叙述图中各信息，体现流程感。那怎么分阶段呢?
雅思流程图大致分两种：
第一种，流程图上面自带有流程序号，那么这个时候就按要求按着阶段写就可以了。但有时也会遇到图中标示的序号过多，比如说一幅图中，有5个以上，甚至是10个左右的序号，这个时候，当然不是要求考生分10段来写，而是有机的将里面的几个连接紧密的步骤写成一段。
第二种情况，比如说这篇文章，图片就没有阶段序号标示，那么就要求考生们在审题看图的时候，自己来分一下阶段。那么本篇作者就巧妙的讲本图分成了4个阶段，并把最后连个连接紧密的阶段放在一段描述，有效的把看似很多的信息都衔接在了一起。
那么怎么做好句衔接呢?还是一样，要用好衔接词。因为一个阶段往往涉及几个小的步骤，这个时候就应使用表示时间顺序的衔接词把段内部的句子衔接起来。 比如说在一段中，作者就用到了“meanwhile，then, prior to, subsequently ”等表示时间前后的衔接词。除此之外，还可以用一些语法手段来体现句衔接，比如文中“Having further separated the phones and batteries into mechanical and magnetic parts, these parts are then divided into metals, plastics and other materials”一句，作者就用了非谓语的完成时态，来将两个前后相连的步骤用非谓语做状语的复杂句子结构连接了起来。
