1. Don't copy the question for your introduction. You should paraphrase the question (i.e. rewrite it using some different words).
不要把问题照搬照抄放在作文的引言当中，要用不同的单词重新把问题改写一遍。
2. Don't forget to separate your paragraphs clearly.
不要忘记清晰地分开每一个段落，以便让考官清楚的了解。
3. Don't forget to write a good summary/overview of the information. A quick one-sentence conclusion is not good enough. I prefer to put the overview straight after the introduction, and I try to write 2 sentences describing the information in general. You won't get a high score if you don't write a good overview.
不要忘了将所得的信息很好地总结/概述一次。一句话的结论并不够好，一般来说，更倾向于把概述后直接放在引言后面，并用两句话来描述信息。如果没有一个好的概述，就不会得到一个好的分数。
4. Don't describe items separately . You should always try to compare things if it is possible to do so. Instead of describing 2 lines separately, compare the 2 lines at key points.
不要单独地描述一个点，如果有可能的话，尝试去做一些对比。同样是两个句子，将它们的关键点进行比较说明，好过单独地进行描述。
5. Don't try to describe every number on a chart or graph (unless there are only a few numbers). A key skill in task 1 is being able to choose the key information and describe or compare it well. I usually mention around 6 or 7 numbers in my main paragraphs.
不要用图表或图形来描述每一个数字(除非只有几个数字)。在Task 1中，有一个关键的技巧就是，选择关键的信息，并很好地去描述它或者进行对比。我通常都会在一个主要段落中，提及6-7个数字。
6. Don't spend longer than 20 minutes on task 1. Practise spending 5 minutes on each of your 4 paragraphs. Stop yourself after 20 minutes; remember that Task 2 is worth more marks.
Task 1所花的答题时间不该超过20分钟，好好练习如何花5分钟的时间在每一个段落上，一共4个段落，则一共不超过20分钟，一到时间就停止做题。记住Task 2能拿的分数更高。
7. It is better to write in regular, not very sophisticated English, than touse phrases or structures you don’t fully understand.
比起用一些你自己都不是完全理解的短语和结构，不如用一些不是很复杂的、比较日常的英语。
8. If you need Band 6 - no need for complex sentence structure. If your goal is Band 7 - then show advanced sentence structure, language and vocabulary.
如果你的目标使6分，那就用一些不是很复杂的句子结构，但如果你想哪7分，那就用一些高级的句子结构、语言和词汇。
9. Don’t write more than 260-265 words in IELTS Writing 2 task. Why? Not because you will get lower mark, but because of these 2 reasons: 1) It takes more time 2) More words = more mistakes.
在雅思Task 2写作中，写作字数不要超过260-265个字。为什么?因为你写作分数低的原因不外乎以下两个：1)花更多的时间(时间不够用;2)字数越多，错误越多。
10. If you are told to cover specific points in your essay/letter – cover every point, examiners actually count them.

11. Don’t overuse connecting words (like However, Furthermore, Moreover, etc) - examiners are watching for you to do that.
不要过多使用连接词(例如，但是，此外，等)，考官就等看着你这么做，然后扣分!
