一.句子当中无谓语或谓语部分不完整
- 直接无谓语动词
例：Sir Ronald Ross, winner of the 1902 Nobel Prize foe physiology or medicine, and who identified the anopheles mosquito as the transmitter of human malaria.
(A) and who identified
(B) he has identified
(C) and he has identified
(D) and who is identifying
(E) identified
答案：E
解析：句子当中缺少谓语动词，主干成分是Sir Ronald Ross identified…..。
- 用从句冒充主句成分
例：Several of the forest fires that occurred last summer which were because people are careless.
(A) which were because people are careless.
(B) Were caused by human carelessness
(C) because people are careless.
(D) are because of human carelessness
(E) happened from people being careless

- 谓语部分不完整
例：The problem of copyright violation, frequently compounded in certain countries because the sale and use of copyrighted materials are not rightly controlled.

二.双主语

三.其它形式
(1) 作为举例的such as 单独使用
例： Mary has done several things to imitate her parents. Such as coming home late, reading novels in class and never flushing toilet after use.
注意：在SAT中，列举的例子是一句话，要用，for example+句子的形式，如果列举的例子不是一个完整的句子，则一律用such as, 而不用like.
(2)especially 或including +句子或词组单独使用
I hate to study English at night. Especially when I was sleety.
The company manufactures a wide range of products. Including TV set, computer and IPod.
(3)因为介词问题造成的不完整
例：She is good and successful in math.
改正：She is good at and successful in math.
We appreciate you for your interest and support for our products.
改正：We appreciate you for your interest in and support for our products.
例题：the institute’s exhibition of pictures of arctic animals displays a firm commitment and a deep interest in the conservation of the world’s endangered animal species.
(A) displays a firm commitment
(B) display a firm commitment
(C) displays a firm commitment to
(D) display a firm commitment to

答案：C
分析：谓语动词和前面的exhibition保持一致，因此用单三的形式，对…的承诺的正确形式是commitment to.
四. 在表示时间，条件或是让步状语从句中，当从句的主语和主句的主语一致，并且从句的谓语里有be动词时，可以把从句的主谓和be动词一起省略，这种情况不是句子不完整。
例：When (I was) in Thailand, I was impressed by its exotic culture.
While (she was) small, Mary began to learn English.
当从句的主语和主句的主语一致，但是从句的谓语动词没有be 动词时，可以把从句的主语省略，而谓语可以采用doing的形式。
例： When I traveled(=traveling) in Beijing, in met a lot of friends.
