1. 简洁性
在SAT语法中要求考生掌握书面用语一般规范，所以对简洁性的考察要求高，其中主要涉及的内容一般有：主动语态>被动语态，动词>名词短语，形容词>定语从句，表示原因的时候because永远是最简洁的表达方式，直接>间接。下面我们通过SAT语法OG7中的一道题来体会一下：
Just as Ireland has produced many famous writers and the Netherlands an abundance of famous painters, so Finland has provided a large number of famous architects.
(A)so Finland has provided a large number of famous architects
(B)Finland provides famous architects, and by large numbers
(C)Finland's contribution is to provide famous architects in a large number
(D)and so then, for Finland, a large number of famous architects is provided
(E)and like them Finland has provided a large number of famous architects
句意：就像爱尔兰一样是很多作家的生源地，荷兰也是很多著名画家的生源地，同样芬兰是很多著名建筑师的生源地。
解析：A，B中just as要与so连用这样才会形成对比，C中平行结构错误不能将Ireland与Finland's contribution对比，D中and so then多余， a large number使用了被动形式，语法中主动大约被动，应该用主动形式表现，E中them指代模糊。
2.Run-on结构
SAT语法中的专用术语run-on句型指的就是，两个或者两个以上独立的句子中间没有连接词，只用逗号连接，这里大家要明确一点什么是独立的句子，独立的句子就是指句子是完整的主谓宾结构完整，也可以叫做句子成分残缺，我们来看一下SAT语法OG7中的一道语法题：
7. Poet Anne Spencer initially allowed very little of her work to be published because her exacting standards caused her to doubt that her poems were good enough to share with others.
(A) because her exacting standards caused her to doubt
(B) her standards being exacting, she doubted

句意：安妮起初几乎不会触犯自己的作品，因为她自我要求过于严格让她担心她的诗词是否足够优秀与其他人分享。
解析：A，B中是句子成分残缺没有连接词，run-on句型，C中which的指代模糊，D中from并不能取代because的作用，E中逻辑错误，having exacting standards说的是诗人并不是诗人的诗。
