Required Testing
The ACT Plus Writing or the SAT (Critical Reading, Math and Writing) is required. Official scores from all test dates must be sent to Stanford directly from the ACT or the College Board (the reporting agency for the SAT) or both if the applicant has taken the ACT and the SAT. Applicants may not use the College Board's Score Choice feature or "hide" any scores with either testing agency.

Redesigned SAT
In March 2016 the College Board will offer a redesigned SAT. We are looking forward to the new exam and add the following information:
1. Stanford will accept scores from both the current SAT and the redesigned SAT.
2. Stanford will require all three components of the redesigned SAT: Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, Math, and Essay.
3. We will superscore the results from the current and redesigned SAT separately.
