1. Is it reasonable for students to take cooking class in order to have a better understanding of nutrition and healthcare?
I think having students take a cooking class is a good idea to teach people how to eat healthier. Obesity is becoming more prevalent in society and eating healthy is more important now than ever. People who don’t know how to cook eat at restaurants, which tend to serve full of fat and salt. If more people know how to cook, they will not need to eat at restaurants as often. For example I have a friend whose parents both do not know how to cook. Every day they go out for dinner. My friend and both of his parents are overweight and have health issues because of their bad eating habits. I think my friend would develop better eating habits if he knew how to cook.
2. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Children will learn more if the teachers are kind and friendly.
I think being kind and friendly is always the best way to get anything done. For a teacher to teach effectively, I think it is very important. A student who enjoys attending class will learn more. If the teacher is mean and unpleasant, not many students will want to attend his or her class. For example I remember my fourth grade teacher. She was so mean and treated all of us like we were very stupid. Every week she made one of my classmates cry. I did not respect this teacher, because she did not respect me. Instead of being a good student, I was very rude to this teacher and ignored he lessons. I was then put in a classroom with a nice teacher and I stopped being a bad student.
