If any of the five real-life sleeping beauties open their eyes when they are kissed by their suitors at an art exhibit in Kiev, they are contractually obliged to marry them.
The women were chosen earlier this month to each lie sleeping for three days as part of an installation in the National Art Museum of Ukraine.
As they sleep, men survey and kiss the women, trying to wake them.
If the sleeping beauties open their eyes, both man and woman are contractually obliged to tie the knot.
"Everybody, any viewer, will have to sign the contract, which says if – this is very important, because nobody has to – 'if I kiss the beauty and she opens her eyes while being kissed, I marry her'," said Ukrainian-Canadian artist Taras Polataiko, who organized the exhibit.
Requirements for the princes and princesses are the same: they must be over 18 years old, they should not be married, and they are required to have a serious intention and sincere desire to get married.
Men were allowed to kiss the beauty only once, and only on the lips.
Polataiko said he hoped the exhibit would produce a real love connection for participants and male visitors.
"I hope they come, so it will be more interesting for the beauties. But I really don't know. It's a really serious thing, it's marriage," he said.
乌克兰国家艺术博物馆曾经进行一个真人版的“睡美人”展览。事先选定的五位女性每人会在展厅睡三天，前来参观的男性如若亲吻了某位女性，而这位女性因此睁开眼睛的话，这两位就要结为连理。据此次展览的组织者介绍，每位参观者在进入展厅前都要签署一份合同，声明“如果我亲吻了一位美人，而她在我亲吻时睁开了眼睛，我就娶她”。当然，不一定每位参观者都会亲吻展厅里的“睡美人”。选定的五位“睡美人”和所有参观者均需年满18岁，未婚，且真心实意想结婚。参观的男性只能亲吻“睡美人”一次，而且只能亲嘴唇。
