有些托福考生的基础功不错，词汇积累的也不少，但是做起托福阅读来总是时间不够。其实，要解决托福阅读时间不够的这一问题很简单，只要记住下面两点就可以了。一起来看看托福阅读节省时间的小秘诀，教你做阅读不耗时。
第一、托福阅读文章的首段前4行
即先托福阅读文章的首段前4行，注意这里不是前2行，因为现在很多文章首句通常是由专业名词组成或者是一些习语组成，大多数中国学生只知道看完首句，然后他们就崩溃了，因为专业词汇和习惯用语一次性将他们打懵。因此这里建议首先读完前4行来了解文章主题方向。
例如：
The agricultural revolution in the nineteenth century involved two things: the invention of labor-saving machinery and the development of scientific agriculture. Labor-saving machinery naturally appeared first where labor was scarce. "In Europe, said Thomas Jefferson, "the object is to make the most of their land, labor being abundant: here it is to make the most of our labor, land being abundant.
第二、直接读题
做托福阅读是可以直接读题，然后在题中找关键词回到原文进行点查。不过这里点查也是有技巧的。第一题通常是文章的主题题，例如：
1.What is the main topic of the passage?
(A) The need for agricultural advances to help feed a growing population
(B) The development of safer machines demanded by the labor movement
(C) Machinery that contributed to the agricultural revolution
(D) New Jersey as a leader in the agricultural revolution
跳过不做，放到最后来做。其他的很多试题都是标记了行号或者可以通过特殊字符来辨认，比如数字，大写字母，拼写十分怪异的单词等等，例如：
2.The word "naturally" in line 3 is closest in meaning to
(A) unsurprisingly (B) gradually (C) apparently (D) safely
当一道题没有这些标示的时候要通过邻近的其他试题来定位本题在原文中的位置。
