首先，认识托福阅读推断题
托福阅读推断题主要考查考生根据文章内容推断题目内容以及分析文章结构和主干的能力。推断题的提问方式是：
1、Which of the following can be inferred about X?
2、The author of the passage implies that X?
3、Which of the following can be inferred from paragraph 1 about X?
从上面三种提问方式看出，推理题题目主干一般含有“infer，imply”等词汇。此外，每一种提问方式中的X都是题干的关键词，也是考生利用题目主干来定位原文的依据。
其次，了解推断题解题策略
1)解决托福阅读推断题一共有四个步骤：找关键词——浏览原文、定位段落——推断、推理——排除错误选项。
2)需要注意的是，做推断题的时候，一定要注意推断的概念：
1. 暗示但不会明确指出;
2. 寻找直接逻辑，推断答案;
3. 避免先入为主，主观臆断;
4. 过于消极、绝对、带有歧视的选项不正确。
3)一般来说，推断题主要有四种题目类型和解题技巧：
1.正向思维
On a deeper level the bride price represents payment on the fact that the bride will bring children into the family of the groom, thereby increasing the wealth of the family. This concept is reinforced by the fact that the bride price must often be returned if the bride fails to bear children.
It can be inferred that African family place great importance on childbirth.
正向思维主要四根据文章原文推断选项，上面这段话，在开头和结尾部分，都出现了children这个词汇，所以可见，“孩子在非洲家庭的重要性”。
2.逆向思维
Chemical analysis of plant matter, for example, provides information regarding temperature, average rainfall, and other climatic information about the time period.
It can be inferred that Climate affects the chemistry of plants.
逆向思维主要是从结论能够推断出原文，原文中提到植物的化学分析，能够提供一些气候方面的信息。(结论的话)反过来看，气候会影响植物的化学成分，这就是逆向思维。
3.非此即彼
The earliest pterosaurs arose near the end of the Triassic period of the Mesozoic Era. Some 70 million years before the first known fossil of true birds occur, and they presumably dominated the skies until they were eventually displaced by birds.
It can be inferred that Birds were probably dominated the skies after the decline of pterosaurs.
非此即彼，也就是说原文中会提到一些信息，如果两方面的信息都有，那么在结论中就是非此即彼的关系。原文中说有一种恐龙开始是统领天空，后来被鸟类取代。那么，从原文的内容就能够推断出，被鸟类取代之后，鸟类统领填空。
4.注意用词
Ordinary meteoric water is water that has soaked into the ground from the surface, from precipitation (rain and snow) and from takes and streams. There are remains, sometimes for long periods, before emerging at the surface again. At first thought it seems incredible that there can be enough space in the “solid" ground underfoot to hold all this water.
It can be inferred that the ground that we walk on has the capacity to store large amounts of water.
从文中的“Incredible, enough space, solid, hold all this water”这些词汇可以看出，土地具有很强的储水能力，能够储存大量的水资源。
