A.enclosedB.permanentC.motionlessD.intact的时候，就需要对应到原文中，Water does not remain immobile in an aquifer but can seep out at springs or leak into other aquifers，原句说的是水不是怎么样，而是通过泉水或者渗漏到其他含水层的方式渗出，也就是说水会流动，也就是不是不动，因此我们就可以推测出immobile的意思就是不动，进而推测出正确的选项C。
二.指代题
在托福阅读考试中，指代题是很多考生在考试中遇到的一个难关，其实这类题目非常简单，考生在作答的时候，只需要根据自己已经掌握的语法知识，对相应的句子进行分析，找到对应的成分即可。比如，考生在回答TPO11PASSAGE1中的第七题，The word “they” in the passage refers to_A. statuesB. gatewaysC. templesD. pillared courts的时候，they指代的东西肯定在前面，所以我们就应该向前找，而且where they would be placed against or between pillars中的they在从句中所做的成分是主语，因此在往前找的时候我们也应该去找主语，即Other statues were designed to be placed within an architectural setting, for instance, in front of the monumental entrance gateways to temples known as pylons, or in pillared courts, where they would be placed against or between pillars: their frontality worked perfectly within the architectural context.而在这一句话中的主语是statues，因此我们就可以选出正确的选项A。
三.细节题
在托福阅读考试中，从难度上来说，细节题是相对而言比较简单的题目，考生只需要根据题目中的关键词定位到原文，然后进行辨析即可。比如当考生在回答TPO24PASSAGE1中的第六题According to paragraph 3, which of the following best describes a seepage-dominated lake?(2)A.A lake that is fed by streams but still has fluctuating water levelsB.A lake with a constant water level that has no streams or rivers as inputsC.A lake with a stream flowing into it and a stream flowing out of itD.A lake that has surface and underground inputs but loses water during dry seasons的时候，就应该以seepage-dominated lake作为关键词定位到文章中的倒数第二句，For example, a pond in hilly country that maintains a steady water level all through a dry summer in spite of having no streams flowing into it must obviously be seepage dominated.，倒数第二句说的是如果没有地表水注入的pond依然能维持水量就是seepage-dominated，所以，正确的答案是B。
