根据托福口语评分标准，考官会从How fully answer the question and how coherently you present your ideas.来决定考生在topic development中的得分，在这其中最重要的部分就是coherence。如果考生想做到coherence就需要从the sematic as well as logical relevance of one utterance to another即逻辑和语义上两方面入手。本次前程百利小编就从这两方面来和大家分享一下在组织托福口语答案的时候做到coherence的技巧和方法。
一.逻辑关系
在托福口语考试中，句子和句子，段落和段落之间的逻辑关系主要是从逻辑关系词体现的，所以考生在考试的时候，应该学会掌握一些常用的逻辑关系词，比如after, before, at the same time ,first ,second ,on the one hand, on the other hand, primarily
,above all等等，并且利用历年真题不断练习，学会恰当的使用它们来表现自己答案中每个句子的层次关系，恰当的表达自己的观点。
比如在回答TPO3task1 What characteristics do you think make someone a good parent?的时候，如果考生想从父母patient，以及supportive两方面入手回答，在组织答案的时候，就可以运用表示次序的逻辑关系词First，和Furthermore把两个分论点串联起来，让整篇文章看起来像一个统一的整体。即首先，用First引起第一个分论点，即First, she is a good listener who always pays attention to what I have to say，that makes her the person who knows me the best in our family. 然后用Furthermore承上启下，引出第二个分论点，并且用for example引出相应的论据。Furthermore，she’s very supportive of me and my goals。For example, she’s always wanted me to get in to Finance, but my passion is in Art. Although we had different views of what I should be studying in college, she was very supportive of me and my goals and decided to send me to the best Art school in the country.
二.语义关系
如果想要提升coherence的能力，考生还需要提升驾驭语义关系的能力。为了做到这一点，考生应该要一方面强化对语法知识比如强调句，祈使句，被动句，状语从句，比较句型，非谓语动词，it is +that等用法的掌握，学会用正确的结构，恰当的把自己脑海中的中文用英语以合适的方式连贯的表达出来，避免出现语义表达的失误，另一方面要增强逻辑思维能力，尤其是在托福独立口语考试中，总论点，分论点和支撑它的论据在语义上应该做到完全的统一。
比如在回答TPO4的task2的时候，考生如果想从taking courses in traditional classrooms入手，就可以首先用it is +that的句型表达自己的观点，First of all, it’s very important that students get to work with an experienced professor in the learning process. 然后考生可以运用具体的举例来支撑第一个分论点，需要考生注意的是，在选择举例的内容的时候，一定要选择那些可以充分的论证第一个分论点的例子，不要出现分论点明明是教授可以帮助学生学习，但是例子却成了学生可以和身边的同学交朋友。小编建议考生在用具体的论点论述的时候，可以说当教授在教室的时候，学生学习新的事物变得十分便利。It’s so much easier to engage in a discussion or ask questions directly in a traditional classroom. The presence of a professor plays a big role when you are trying to learn something new.然后用非谓语动词做主语引出第二个分论点Second, learning in a traditional classroom means that you can meet many other students.然后陈述第二个分论点It’s great that students get to know each other and become friends in the classroom.
托福口语考试确实没有我们想象中的那么困难，考生只要在掌握以上技巧和方法的基础上，采用历年真题不断练习，就一定可以在考试中取得高分。
