The university has decided to discontinue its free bus service for students. The reason given for this decision is that few students ride the buses and the buses are expensive to operate.
The money saved by eliminating the bus service will be used to expand the overcrowded student parking lots.
The man expresses his opinion of the university’s plan to eliminate the bus service. State his opinion and explain the reasons he gives for holding that opinion.
The university planned to cancel the students’ bus service.,以及学校做出这种决定的原因是Because nearly no students take the buses and it is costly to operate the buses, meanwhile the money saved can be used to improve students’ parking lots。
I don’t like the university’s plan. The man disagrees with the school’s decision.
Reason 1:
First, the buses' route is too old, and it goes through the neighborhoods where most students cannot afford to live now. That's the reason why few students use the buses. But if the school changes the route to the places where most off- campus students live, there will be more students using the buses.
Reason2: Besides, adding more parking lots is quite problematic, because it will encourage more students to drive cars on campus, which will cause noise and traffic problems. And finally, the parking lots will become more and more crowded.
An opening letter from a student
The man expresses his opinion of the student’s proposal letter. State his opinion and express the reasons he gives for holding that opinion. A student wrote a letter to the principal to suggest that the school should financially support a wilderness club for students, which will make it more convenient for students to go outdoors and take a break from studies.
M: Look! That‘s great!
W: What do you mean?
M: The school would make a good decision by following through on that student's proposal.
W: What is the proposal about?
M: Here you go, a letter in the newspaper states that the school should allocate funds to organize field trips for students. I believe this act will have a positive impact。
M: Especially in spring and summer, a lot of students enjoy taking nature However not all of them have transportation, making it difficult to take trips. Students living in the center of the city would find trips like that difficult to make. But with the transportation covered by the school, more students would be able to take a break from their studies and go on nature walks.
Reason 1. First, many students who want to take nature walks do not have proper transportation, making it too difficult for them to travel on field trips. But with the transportation provided by school, such students‘ dream to have field trips could come true.
W: You are right. Being out and about in nature is really refreshing, right?
M: That's right. Spending all our time and energy on studying leads to exhaustion. Trips like these are good experiences for students, helping them to recharge their batteries and experience nature. When they come back, the students will be even more focused on their studies. Reason2. Besides, such trips arc also very good for their study. Because they can take a break from study and after they come back from the field trips, students will become so refreshed that they can concentrate more on their schoolwork.
The situation at the health center is unacceptable: you sit in a crowded waiting room for hours waiting to get treatment for minor ailments. first, the health center needs to hire more doctors And as far as the wait time issue is concerned, the health center is currently open Monday through Fridays。So, opening the health center on weekends should solve that problem too. The man expresses his opinion about the student’s suggestions that are made in the letter. State the man’s opinion and explain the reasons he gives for holding that opinion.
A student proposed two suggestions to improve the situation that the health center. He suggested the health center to hire more doctors and open it on weekends
然后我们可以从听力部分though she’s right about the problems, I don’t think what she proposes will do much good. The man disagrees with the students’ proposal.
我们可以从it’s tiny, right? The center suffers from lack of space, so, unless they build more treatment rooms or offices or something。 First, the man thinks that the health center is too small to have more doctors, unless it gets extended with more treatment rooms and off.
A lot of students aren't even here on the weekends.
They leave town and get away; there’s not a lot of people here.
So there’s just not a lot of demand for treatment then.
Second, as many students are always off campus on weekends, there is not much demand for treatment. So there is no need to open the health center on weekends.
