分析：
A new study 是句子主语，suggests 是谓语， that 引导宾语从句，从句主语是conversational pace of everyday life ，谓语是may be ，ability 是习语当中的提示词，我们回想一下ability的用法。

Ability of sb to do
注意：Ability for是错误的用法。
A选项使用了 ability for 这个错误的用法，排除 A，B选项Ability of sb to do习语没问题，C选项Ability of sb to do习语没问题也没有问题，再往后and后面是一个完整的句子，但是前面的句子是 it hampers the ability of some children，但是they are unable to make 其中的they指的是children，在代词指代的时候说过，如果是名词1 of 结构名词2，(比如说这里的the ability of some children )代词指代的如果说是主格，宾格they或者it，它是指代不了名词2的。原因在于，of结构名词2，这里的名词2实际上是充当的定语修饰的是名词1，所以这里的they指代是错误的，排除C。D选项Ability 用法正确，and后面跟的是 results ，那就是并列的谓语，那么making 的逻辑主语就变成了it，这里的it指的是什么呢?如果是主语位置出现的代词，一定会优先指代另外一个主语上的名词也就是SVO,conjunctions SVO，所以it指的是pace。但是make的主语应该是 children，所以这个并列的不正确。排除D。E选项，Ability for是错误的用法。所以正确答案是B.
正确句子：
A new study suggests that the conversational pace of everyday life may be so brisk that it hampers the ability of some children to distinguish discrete sounds and words and, as a result, to make sense of speech.
验证：
A new study句子主语，谓语动词是 suggests， that 引导宾语从句，从句主语的中心词是pace，may be so brisk that，其中so …that…也是一个习语，so as to跟so …that…的区别就是前一个跟着短语，后一个跟着句子。so brisk that it 中的it指的是pace，hampers 是谓语， 后面是ability of somebody to do something,后面是distinguish A and B,as a result是插入语， to distinguish and to make sense of speech.也没有问题。
例4：
The Olympic Games helped to keep peace among the pugnacious states of the Greek world in that a sacred truce was proclaimed during the festival's month.

分析：
The Olympic Games 是句子主语，helped 是谓语，help to do sth 是help的用法，help somebody to do,或者help somebody do都可以，among the pugnacious states of the Greek介词短语作定语，in that 表示原因，另外since，because，for或者说是as这些词都可以表示因为，in that 后面是原因状语从句，a sacred truce是从句主语，was proclaimed是从句谓语动词，during是时间状语，所以可以发现主句和从句是因果关系，
句子意思是：一个神圣的宣言在奥运会期间被宣读，因此可以维护这个好斗者之间短暂的和平。during the festival's month.during这个是时间状语后边出现了撇s的用法，这个撇S我们会想到跟of结构的表达有些不同，撇S应该用于有生命的，比如人或者动物，但是of结构没有任何限制。所以festival这个没有生命的就优先选择OF结构，因为撇S和OF都只是属于相对错误的范畴，所以目前还不能直接作为错误选项排除A。再看B，是一个SVO,doing结构的句子，在说修饰的时候就说过这个doing结构的逻辑主语可以是句子主语也可以是整个句子，根据句意分析proclaiming的逻辑主语肯定不能是The Olympic Games ，其实应该是好战的国家，所以B结构逻辑不对。C选项把in that的原因状语从句改成了when 引导的时间状语从句，那么这就导致逻辑意思发生了变化，另外they proclaimed a sacred truce for the festival month其中的they是想指代pugnacious states ，但是主语是The Olympic Games 也是一个复数形式，还有for something的用法表示的是目的状语，目的状语不仅可以使用for something还可以用to do something,我们按照句意理解这个宣称停战协议目的并不是为了奥运会，其实是为了好斗的国家之间维持一个短暂的和平，所以for这个目的状语是不行的。D选项for表因为是没有问题的，而且the month of the festival 使用的of结构要比A选项撇S的使用要更好，保留D选项。E选项用介词by引出，by proclamation of a sacred truce介词短语做定语， that 引导引导定语从句，那么这个句子的主体就变成了奥运会帮助维持和平，所以直接用介词BY是错误的。所以综合考虑A和D之间对比之后选择D.
正确句子：
The Olympic Games helped to keep peace among the pugnacious states of the Greek world, for a sacred truce was proclaimed during the month of the festival.
验证：
The Olympic Games 是句子主语， helped是谓语，among the pugnacious states of the Greek world,介词短语充当定语，for是原因状语的连接词表示的是因为，for和because是一样，只是for更加正式。For引导的原因状语从句的主语是a sacred truce，was proclaimed 是谓语，during 引导时间状语。
