Though always varying unconsciously, family pattern indeed indicates the economic development of a country and people's attitude towards their culture. People highlight it nowadays to find out the root causes and influence it will bring to our lives.
Two main entwining factors are discovered to explain this phenomenon. For one thing, it is the social productivity that underlies the formation of current family types. In the past, the ancestry clans collapsed into small villages when people were able to make tools, farm land and raise poultries and livestock. Similarly, modern people are confidently living an independent life since they can find a job and raise themselves, without relying their family any more. For another, the compromise to the change of traditions enables people no longer to regard living in an extended family as a universal norm. Adult children could move out for a private life without their parents' permission.
As the development becomes inevitable, both government and individuals have perceived the urgency to deal with its after effects. An increasing number of people are worried about that family bound might not be as strong as used to be, since their children begin to feel strange to their grandparents when they live with father and mother in childhood and move out for privacy in adulthood. This mental isolation is thought to be a main cause of weakening family support. Therefore, authority needs to update the welfare system to assure the well being of aged population without accompany of children. Not only provide them insurances, but also take care of their solitary moods.
In conclusion, the change of family pattern is surely unpreventable when a society is seeking more progress. What we can do is to pay a close attention to the potential impediment brought about by the change and to take care of every member in the community. (307字)

The improvement of life level and advance in medication over the years greatly prolong people’s life span, while in the duration, the birth rate decreases gradually due to the pursuit of freedom of the public, which leads to the growth of the proportion of older people around the world. Although this may be inevitable, personally, I think it has more negative impacts on the development of the society.
Increasing number of old people may exert a heavy pressure on the social resources. Weaker physically, the old may demand more for health care services, such as medical care and nursery houses while contributing less to the development of the society. Besides, the old pension will be a heavy burden on the already tight budget, reducing the amount that can be invested in other fields for the public welfare.
More old people in the society will bring about problems to the employment market. On one hand, the population of people available to work is dropping because of the retirement of older people. Meanwhile, there are inadequate young people to fill the empty positions. Lacking of labor resource is becoming a severe problem in many countries. Also, when there are more old people, some of them may choose to or be asked to keep working on their positions, hindering the way for the young to progress in their careers.
Admittedly, the increase in the rate of old people in the society, may to some extent, mean that there are some positive effects on people and the society, such as their possibility to enjoy a latter half of life after contributing to the society for so many years, and the younger generation’s being able to receive more care from the older generations to have a better growth. However, considering the rising number itself, an unbalance of the age group among the population is something not expected in any era, and the enjoyment of life should not be based on the sorrows of the young.
To sum up, the growing proportion of older people will bring about more negative effects on the society. Only with a more balanced share of every age group in the population, will the country develop at a healthier direction.(369字)
