The rise of living standard in a country often only benefits cities rather than rural areas. What problems can be caused? How can these problems be reduced?

Differences, on the bright side, enrich the variety of the world. However, differences, in this case originated from policy partiality and regional imbalance, are discouraging: only urban areas are blessed with living standard improvements. In contrast, less developed areas suffer from such problems as an influx of population, weakening agriculture, and less care for the young and old.
To begin with, problems loom large when a huge rural population migrates into cities. The sudden increase of city dwellers instantly translates into congested traffic, job competition, a rise in daily expenditure, and more polluted environment. To decrease the burden of cities, higher entrance standards are to be set so that unreasonable migration can be curbed to some degree, for example increasing property price and raising job qualifications.
Subsequently, with population, labor force in particular, staying in cities, agriculture suffers. Farming is still a generally labor-intensive industry in the world. Thus, less labor force means agricultural instability, and national instability in the bigger picture. With lurking food shortage, governments are compelled to enact favorable policies towards agricultural production as in subsidies in produce price and investment in modern farming technologies.
Moreover, when farming lands are abandoned, family members are left behind. It is not likely for migrating rural citizens to bring to cities their less socially competitive family members, i.e. the elderly and the young. With a huge age difference present, either the old or the young can barely take care of the other. In this case, governments will have to step in again to set up nurseries, schools, and retirement homes to accommodate the less-cared-for rural population.
In sum, negative situations resulted in regional differences are about waning agriculture, less care for children and senior citizens, and common urbanisation-related problems. Governmental control and adjustments, with policy and/or investment, are the cure.

In some countries, the parents expect children to spend long time in studying both in and after school and have less free time. Do you think it has positive or negative effects on children and the society?

Nowadays, parents pay closer attention to children’s academic performance. As a result, some teenagers are ordered to continue acquiring knowledge from course books, even during their spare time. Personally, it has more negative effects on children and the society.
Admittedly, acquiring knowledge as much as possible would be high on today’s students’ agenda, especially in this competitive world. Higher educational resource is always limited; as a consequence, it is absolutely justified to allocate the opportunities of sharing advanced learning resources to those who perform well in academic study.
However, on no account should we ignore its drawbacks. Firstly, it should be taken into consideration that students will suffer stifling academic stress. Most importantly, if their free time were occupied for further knowledge acquisition, then they would have no time to relax their bodies and ease their minds. In the long run, some adolescents tend to totally collapse, seeking some unfavorable approaches to releasing pressure, such as gambling, getting drunk and even committing suicide. Secondly, we should by no means overly emphasize the improvement of academic performance. Realistically, the cultivation of team spirit and interpersonal skills are also supposed to attract parents and educators’ attention. Otherwise, the youngsters are more likely to encounter difficulties when they collaborate with colleagues for any group assignment. Words fail to express how important communicational skills are in this rapidly changing world. So, it is far from enough if the students only predominate in the field of study.
Overall, there is no denying that parents and teachers are supposed to join forces to help children become well-rounded adults in the near future, which is not only reflected in their academic performance, but also on their skills when they cooperate with others.
(2)远程授课的利弊
Many people use distance-learning programs (study material post, TV, Internet, etc. ) to study at home, but some people think that it cannot bring the same benefits of attending college or university. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Distance learning is a relatively recent phenomenon and consequently it is somewhat controversial. With good reason, many people question whether technology can really change how we can learn. Others, however, make a convincing argument that classroom-based learning has its limitations. Considering both sides, it is clear that there is value in both approaches.
Let us first consider the pros of traditional, classroom-based learning. From the time of the ancient Greeks and Chinese and perhaps before, we have clung to the idea of a "teacher", one who shares his/her wisdom and expertise. This model has been tested and survived the ages. Teachers not only can share knowledge, but they can assess, correct and motivate students. Truly there is great value in this.
That said, remote learning also has its own upside. Consider, for example, students who live in remote areas without roads or funds to pay for tuition to attend a school far away, an Internet connection solves this. Also, there is something to be said for students being more independent learners, and online learning develops this skill.
So the question really is not which one?" but rather, "How can we combine both?" It seems perfectly reasonable that students attend some classes in person, but also use the web to communicate with other students and professors as well as research various topics. Countries and societies need to assess which approach works best for them.
So while we should harness the potential of new technology that makes remote learning possible, we should not neglect the importance of traditional learning. Student without teachers will surely be lost; but students who simply rely on teachers for knowledge are not really learning.
