  1. 选择第一种

  (1)连续学习9个月,休息3个月可以保持学习的连续性,巩固记忆效果;

  (2)连续学习9个月,休息3个月,可以有更多的时间安排自己的个人事务。

  (1)9个月连续学习时间太长,容易造成疲劳;间歇性休息有助于提高学习效率;

  (2)一个月的休息时间不会让学生很快忘记刚刚学过的内容,开学时会很快地回忆起来。

  范文:

  Owning to the intensive competition in the current job market, the discussion about what is the best childhood education approach has never been more popular that at any other time in history. Although many children are fascinated by the long and relaxing holiday, I think the design of shorter academic calendar accompanied by one month break is best for the children. Not only can students digest knowledge more efficiently, the shorter break can also prevent students from being rusty with learning.

  First of all, the recommended school year is conducive to learning efficiency. Educators should be aware of the fact that studying is an intellectual challenging activity that requires extraordinary efforts from students in order to achieve academic success. The physical and mental strength of a typical young child can only support him or her to absorb knowledge effectively by attending classes that last for approximately three months. Then it would be beneficial for the student to enjoy a break which allows him to relax and to restore the energy before moving to the next learning target. On the other hand, if the student is required to go to school for a consecutive nine months, he is likely to feel exhausted in the middle of the school year. As a result, the student would not be able to notice understand and react to the learning activity as effectively as he could be in the second half of the semester.

  The other advantage of adopting one month break is that students can remain sharp in the end of the holiday. The often quoted phrase that learning is a lifetime pursuit does have a practical implication. The ability to acquire higher level of knowledge is subject to the premise that the student is acquainted with the basics that support it. Accordingly, it will be a relative smooth process for the student picking up where he had left after the one month break when he starts the new semester. On the contrary, many students have the annoying experience that they could not recall what they had learned in the end of a prolonged and colorful vacation, e.g., three months. The consequence is that they were unable to continue the study before reviewing the old knowledge which costs an extensive period of time.

  In conclusion, I think the benefits brought by the shorter academic calendar outweigh the alternative method substantially.
