一、题目介绍

W: Hey Colin, you look so down. What's up?
M: Band problems again. We’ve got to practice, but it’s hard to find a place where you can have three guys playing electric guitars.
W: The Music Department has a great studio that’d be ideal. Why not rent that?
M: You just said why: rent. Sure the studio’s great. But we need to practice every day, maybe two hours. There’s no way we can afford the rent.
W: Why not talk to Professor Garcia? You know, the department chairman. He’s a rock lover. I bet he’d let you use the music building for free.
M: We’ve been looking into that. It is free, which is great. But we can’t use the building during the day. We can only use it in the evening before 10:00 p.m. That’s not a lot of time.
W: But it is free, and it’s a lot better than nothing. Besides, they say you artistes ought to suffer for your art, don’t they?
M: Courtney, you're really not helping.
1. 解题步骤
第一步我们要做的就是听对话、记重点。注意，除了听problem和solutions之外，一定要留意学生对解决方案的态度，这些会帮助我们找到理由来支持自己的观点。笔记如下：

By contrast, playing in the Music Department is free. True, the hours of use are limited to before ten o’clock in the evening, but they have a place to practice at least for a few hours a day, which is good enough. It’s far better than nothing anyway.
