有的学生会这么去阐述自己的观点：I totally agree with the statement that people should enjoy hobbies or attend physical activities that differ from their work。在这个句子中，学生用了简单的方式去整合或者替换词汇。虽然这样的表达方式的确符合了paraphrasing的要求，但是若想拿高分，仍需要用些更加literal的词汇来表达，比如：Either personal interest or body-building distinguished from the property of one’s career, when considered the value of endowing the multitude with the opportunities to assuage stress from daily work, should not be pretermitted.在这里个人观点的paraphrasing里，用了body-building替换了physical activities，distinguish from替换了differ from，同时还用了endow with, multitude, assuage 和pretermit等高分词汇，除此之外，还把句子整合成了复杂句。这样的写作，不拿高分都不行。
那么，有哪些词汇是所谓的高分词呢?比如，在很多作文中，很多学生都会用到important去强调观点的重要性。其实，有很多词汇可以替代Important, 比如 critical, consequential, indispensable以及appreciable。
这些词语的使用有什么区别呢?critical在美国使用频率是最高的，它侧重于urgently needed或者 absolutely necessary; consequential这个词，很明显的是consequence 的形容词，所以侧重于having important issues or results; indispensable和critical的概念其实很像，都有着absolutely necessary的意思;而appreciable， 表示enough to be estimated or measured，也就是说，值得去评估的有价值的，可以衡量的。
